Did I Do That?

So my inspiration for my daughter Ava’s 1-year-old birthday photoshoot was the thought of a magical wonderland. I’ve been calling Ava my little Tinker Bell ever since I felt her cute kicks in my womb. I also wanted the theme of the shoot to correlate with her party. We’ll save her party for another post ☺ I knew that I wanted to make the backdrop myself and save hubby and me $300+. Yes, from the vendors that I researched, the average cost for space, backdrops, and props alone was $375. Not including the photographer. I wanted Ava’s shoot to be grand but cost-efficient. So I knew I had to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

I order almost all the materials from a mother’s best friend, Amazon. I already had a backdrop stand; I just needed the rest of the materials.

I used 3 rolls of tulle Craft and Party, 54″ by 40 Yards (120 ft) Fabric Tulle Bolt for Wedding and Decoration – 2 blush and 1 white

I order 1 pack of the Wisteria Vines and a separate pack without the vine (reused for the party) 12 Pack Artificial Fake Wisteria Vine Rattan Hanging Garland Silk Flowers String and 12 Pack Ivy Leaf Foliage for Home Kitchen Garden Office Wedding Wall Decor (White, 24)

Lastly, the pretty lights that looked like fireflies in the photos.

If needed, here’s the backdrop stand that I have:

So how did I do it? I simply draped the white tulle over the bar of the backdrop stand, I draped the blush tulle as well and used safety pins to hold the “blush curtain” in place. I pinned them to the white tulle. I used a beautiful rose gold and blush pink glitter ribbon from Hobby Lobby to tie the center of the curtains. I bent the long stem of the flowers to serve as a hook, and I hung the flowers on the bar of the backdrop. I placed the leaf garland over the stems of the flowers and used a clear string to tie the garland to the bar of the backdrop. Lastly, I used push pins to pin the lights on the wall behind the backdrop. I used the remaining blush tulle for the area where Ava would sit and smash her cake. It took me about an hour to create. Ta-dah!! This beauty was formed for my Tinkerbelle!

Would you like for me to create a video of how I made this backdrop? Do you know any other creative and time-saving ways to create something similar? Comment below and let me know!

Until next time, be brilliant and glamorous! XOXO!!!
