ob·struc·tion – a thing that impedes or prevents passage or progress; an obstacle or blockage.
Several of my friends have asked me, “what is this about?” “What are you up to?” Well, over time, I’ve learned that everyone has a gift or a story. Every day your talents grow and magnify right before your eyes. For some, it comes naturally, and others it takes a little more effort. Nonetheless, that talent is YOUR gift. With your talent comes a story. A story of fear, struggle, and success. Why not share your talent and stories with others? For a while, I dampened the light on what my family and friends would tell me I’m really great at. Not so fun fact, I’ve had the Brilliant Glam logo, website layout, and outline of blog posts saved on my computer drive for the last 4 years. 4 YEARS!!! My fear was my obstruction towards truly vocalizing my gifts. Fear of what people would think, if people would actually read or listen to what I have to say, and other ridiculous things. I really was in my own way. I prayed about Brilliant Glam, and God responded to me by sending me a text from my cousin Stacy (@staceface_beauty). She told me to stop holding back and just do it! That gave me a swift verbal kick in the rear to get things going.
Outside of my career in health care, I really enjoy fashion, lifestyle, all things mommy and me, and beauty. I also love supporting others and sharing their gifts with others. My heart is filled with joy when I learn something new, and I’ll share it with the world. I’ve learned as a mother that I can be very creative. I truly shocked myself when I prepared my daughter Ava’s backdrop for her 1-year-old photoshoot. I was impressed again after I designed and picked out the items used for her birthday party. I would style my friends, family, and people I didn’t know at the mall/boutiques that I shop at. I literally would go out to shop for myself and end up walking around with a stranger assisting them with picking out their entire outfit. I would leave the store happy that I made someone feel confident about what they were going to wear.
Brilliant Glam is not just another blog; it’s a journey that begins with sharing information. It’s a platform to elevate talent and creativity. It ultimately will lead to other great things that I will share in the future. For now, trust me, you don’t want to miss anything on this voyage!
